Recipe for Dry Skin Care

Dry skin cannot be ignored. Dry skin leads to cracking of the upper layer of skin and gives it a real bad appearance. The main causes of dry skin include: dry climate, hormonal changes, too much exfoliation and treatment of other skin disorders. Moreover, dryness could be the inherent nature of one’s skin. Whatever be the cause, ‘dry skin care’ is very important (but not very difficult).

'Dry skin treatment' starts with moisturisers, the most effective dry skin remedy. Generally, moisturizers are categorized in 2 groups based on the 'natural skin care' they include.

The first group involves moisturizers that only retain the moisture inside the skin by offering 'natural skin treatment,' for example. Vaseline: Vaseline. These humidifiers are relatively inexpensive and are readily available (including in grocery stores).

The second group involves humidifiers that work by removing moisture from the air and distributing it to the skin. It is a very successful 'hot skin care' solution in humid conditions. Humectants are also called moisturizers and provide 'dry skin care' in this way. You must use as much as possible a non-greasy form of moisturizer for proper dry skin care. It is in this group that humectants fall. The humectant ingredients include propylene glycol, urea, glycerin, hyaluronic acid etc.

'Dry skin care' is not only about the use of moisturizers but also good application of them. The best 'dry skin care technique' is to clean the skin before moisturiser is added. By applying the moisturiser while the skin is still damp (after cleansing) you can make your 'hot skin care' even more effective. Also make sure you use products that are soap-free (especially on your face, neck and arms). Exfoliation does help in dry skin care, by removing the dead skin cells. However, don’t exfoliate too hard. Your dry skin care procedures/products should also take care of sun protection. Avoid too much and too direct exposure to sun (simply by using an umbrella/hat etc). Use a good sunscreen lotion before going out. A lot of moisturisers provide sun protection too, along with dry skin care.

You do have natural 'dry skin care' products, i.e. products that naturally have 'dry skin care' (without the use of synthetic chemicals). These dry skin care items offer lipid enhancements to the skin, thereby enabling preservation of moisture within the skin. Another important thing for dry skin care is the water temperature you use to wash your face or shower – use warm water; too hot or too cold water may also cause dryness.

'Dry skin care' also includes being tender to the skin. Hard detergents and alcohol based cleansers should be avoided. Just don't rub your towel on your face after a face wash, just touch softly to rinse off the sweat.

Overall, for someone who takes that seriously, dry skin care is very easy.
